Study Objectives / Research Proposal — Applicants must clearly describe what they intend to study or research in the United States, explain why the chosen field is important, identify how the proposed program supports their career goals, and demonstrate how the knowledge gained will benefit their home country after graduation.
Recommendation Letters — Most Fulbright programs require three recommendation letters. Referees should know the applicant professionally or academically and be able to evaluate academic ability, leadership, research potential, professional competence, communication skills, and future potential. Family members and personal friends are generally not acceptable referees.
English Language Test — Some Fulbright programs require applicants to submit TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test, or another accepted English language qualification during the application process. Other countries nominate applicants first and arrange English testing later. Always follow the instructions published by your country's Fulbright Commission or U.S. Embassy.
